Pointless Argument, Don’t Understand Women

The other day I had an argument with my girlfriend and it
still makes no sense to me. I’ve decided I don’t
understand women at all. Basically what had happened was
that a friend had called me (a female friend that I used to
have a relationship with but now I’m just friends with
her) and told me that she was moving in a few days and wanted
to meet up with me later on. I told my girlfriend about this,
that may have been the biggest mistake. My girlfriend started
questioning me about who this person was and all taht stuff.
So I told her that I was going to give my friend a call, and
I asked her if she had a problem with it. She said it was fine
if I called and she had no problem with it. I wasn’t sure
how to take that so I asked her a few more times just to make
sure, and everytime i asked she said she had no problem with
it. So I called my friend. Bad move. After talking to her
I called my girlfriend back to talk to her and all. She was
pissed, she was livid. She was like I can’t believe
you called her, why would you go and do something like that,
I can’t believe you. See this is the part the really
gets me, I decided to not just go ahead and call my friend
so I thought i was doing the right thing by telling my girlfreind
I was going to call her then I even asked her if she had a problem
with it, and she said she didn’t. I thought I played
everything by the book. But she tells me that she didn’t
want me to call her and she told me that “now she sees
how I am”. I then told her that if she didn’t want
me to call my friend she should’ve jsut said no, and
I would’ve left it at that. So I guess what it comes down
to is that no means no and yes means no as well. I’m so
confused and absolutely do not understand women for the
life of me. If anyone has any advice on how I should handle
this or has had an experience like this, please feel free
to respond.
